Quote me correctly...I said "cookie cutter chopper"... as in American Iron Horse, Big Dog Choppers, Proper Chopper, Grandeur Cycle and the other endless "cookie cutter choppers" that jumped onto the craze back then.
Now, most if not all are considered jokes on the road and selling for a LOT less then they did new > like most Jap bikes.
Now, a fairly "stock/original" HD will usually pull it's original selling price or very close to it.

Actually, I was never a fan of "braided stainless" on the older HD's > just too many lines that stood out and looked cluttered. And, I preferred the black hose to almost not stand out

Hence harley closing alot of plants and shops, they are not selling all that great anymore also....
and of the mentioned, A.H. is on the top of the heap...
I mean if I had to settle for a bike, maybe a harley would be a choice, but then again, i would buy a BMW at that price

Now there is a Major Belt Tightening in that organization and the Economy is Not helping at all. Good Luck H-D after watching AMF do a # on them years ago it would be sad to see another Corp take them over.
    Well said.

If anything,, HD should have been placing themselves in a position for better priced bikes, and respond better to a changing and growing older customer market.

Just batton down the hatches and survive and still offer some innovation of some sort.

We loved our V rods, but it certainly is not the silver bullet for HD's future they myopically once thought it was, and our dealers was (still is) a total crook.

HD is a company that never seems to learn from it's past mistakes, nor listen to their dealers.
