Shop is closed temporarily. All customer boats are out of the yard.

Is this true? He did some very nice service work on my boat years ago. I hope this isn't true.

    It's true.

RIP Louie. You'll be missed by many.

All BS aside, as I've thrown my share of jokes out about some of the gel schemes, I'm really bummed to hear this news.

Louie was a class act and was very open to criticism. Met him at an open house at his shop a few years ago, and it would seem he knew who I was. Walked up as I was pulling a beer out of a cooler at the shop and he asked if I was indeed Jordy. I said yes and asked if I should put the beer back. He said hell no, with a big belly laugh, and we hung out for the next 45 minutes at least talking about the Patron and other upcoming projects he was working on and what I thought could be implemented to make it/them better. He had a great vision for that boat and bounced ideas off me from basic to totally obscure, like power windows on the top end, to stuff as basic as cleats and fuel fills. Still hope to see some of those on the water as they do have some great potential.

Saw him at the boat drags at Firebird not too long ago, and again, spent at least half an hour talking to him. He was an innovater and a man with a vision. As ironic as it seems to be, coming from me, the boating world isn't going to be the same without him.

    RIP Louie,

He was a hell of a nice guy. I took my boat in there to do some work a few years ago. Just patch some gel work and a little bit of upolstery. Talked with him for a few minutes, and he gave me a tour of the shop.

That man built the BEST 21 foot open bow jet boat for the lower river.

Hi Ken, you don't know me, but I've read about your lawsuit against Kachina Powerboats on Offshoreonly.com. I'm sorry you went through all that, and unfortunately, we find ourselves in the same position. We ordered our 34' Drone in November for delivery at Lake Havasu in April. Final payment was made in late March. We still have not received our boat. I don't know if you've heard that Louie died a week ago on Saturday the 16th, and now it appears that Kachina has closed since at least one of their employees has been notified that he no longer has a job. No one answers at any of the numbers we've called today. We live in Oklahoma, and are just wondering if you've heard anything at all out there about what is going on? I've been searching extensively on the internet and can't even find an obit on Louie. Wierd. Any information you might have would be greatly appreciated, and would be strictly confidential. Thank you.

I dont know all the circumstances but if you have not taken delivery of the boat you should be OK.

Thx. Our attorney here is also giving us a recommendation. We do have a certificate of origin, but the boat is not completely finished and has no motors. We really would still like to have it even if we have to have someone else finish it (if we could get Kachina to pay for it). Do you know how all that works?

Kenny, maybe you should consider an edit and let this one go.

Just enough stuff being thrown around this week.

    RIP Louie. Godspeed!

Yes Louie passed away.. There are somethings that are most definitely up in the air with regard to some customer boats.

That being said, I'm sure it will all work out before it's over, and probably doesn't need to be on the internet.
