Gold..Pirates gold... well not really....

I love to metal detect and since gold is so strong, what else can I do?
Heres the loot this summer and now getting to go back out for the fall run....


but just don't think I walk out in the water and pick it up...
I have to pick up a little other stuff too.....





now do not think that is all the gold I found...
remember my wife gets first pick and of course a nice 9 diamond ring went to my mom.
plus stuff my kids grab when I am not looking...
I did not even post all the pennies and other change I get, that will fill a nice size pickle jar...

I also head out to the desert with the gold master in the winter looking for nuggets...
Any one else want to go??? OH, yea this is the shack I stay in for the days I get to be there.

be carefull as mine is dive/waterproof, most cannot get wet..

But yes, it is fun and great exercise.. I lose weight every time I head out for the day..but its a 10-12 hr day non stop..

I have found lots of stuff not photo'd, but i-pods and phones are common.
gold is the toughest, sometimes its 18-24" down... alot of digging for pennies sometimes....

That's cool. So are you saying you find all this in shallow water or do you dive also?
What detector do you have and how much $ was it? Has it paid for itself yet? I'm sure it has in the fun, excitement and exercise, but how about in actual $?

Sweet! I wouldn't mind trying it out but the little time I have I like to play. Maybe I could see if the kids would like to give it try.

I have a Duel Field PI by Whites, it is a dive or beach detector.
I very seldom go out above the waist and just wait till low tides. But I find stuff at all times.
Winter is the best as it moves the sand so I can get to the "hard pack"
I have about $1000 in the detector and stuff for the beach and yes it has paid for itself.
I am getting ready to sell this stuff to ARA metals and might go out tommorow just for one day.
Some days I hunt for 8 hours and find junk and other times I find a gold ring in one hour, but I do find alot of junk, it is not uncommon for me to dig 100+ targets in a day.
the best day was five rings in about 6 hours, some silver ones and some gold...
But let me tell you, you earn every thing you find, it is hard work to fight the waves and lift the scoops three or four times per dig.
I take IB Proffin (s)with me and take it when I am about four hours in a dig, cause I know I will be very sore shortly.

But to be honest, in the summer with the views, sometimes its better then the finds.....

just got call from the gold refining people and this last amount is almost $1500.00

Not bad for a few weeks this summer at the beach hunting and looking....

I am ready to head back to the beach...maybe next week...
Anyone let me park my r.v. in front of their house at night????
