Default !!STOLEN!! Storage units broken into. Gateway Storage exit 9 and Hwy 40

Gateway storage across from Love's exit 9 at hwy 40 was broken into in Jan. The dirtbags that manage it didnt bother to notify renters (just kept taking my 165.00 a month). I found my units interior walls opened to adjoining units. The sheriff took the report and said there has been a ton of break-ins out there. The security cameras dont work.

if you guy's store there you might wanna check your boat. Mine is missing both 24p bravo one props. Alpine stereo and amps, speakers, slide anchors, ipod, craftsmen tool box w/tools, pancake compressor, gps, and who knows what else..

I need a 24p bravo one prop if anyone is selling one...thx bigmike 951-926-6161

What coverage do you have on a storage unit break in? Does the facility cover anything, ie. the damage to the unit and/or contents?

Usually the application has loads of clauses releasing all liability form the storage place..
Some of our stuff was in a storage place when another person set down a cigarette and left it in their unit, hence burning down 2 complete buildings, we were the only ones with insurance...make sure you have insurance!!

WOW!!! That really sucks. I don't understand why people can"t just leave other people stuff alone. Sorry to hear about your boat, I really hope they catch the people doing this so there aren't more boats stolen or stripped

It is no different than any kind of rental space, commercial, residential or storage, you are responsible for Insurance of your property. Nothing new.

According to the Sheriff, the krakheads have been coming in thru the back wall that faces the open desert. They just unscrew the wall panels to gain access and once inside a unit they just unscrew interior walls to access every unit in that row.... This place advertized "secure storage" when we first rented they had peeps onsite for security, apperantly that has changed and the offices are no longer manned. They do have some responsibilty to let the tennants know that there was a break in and to come and chk your unit, especially when they knew the unit on both sides of me were ripped off in Jan. Plus, they didnt even resecure the damn walls!!! I would steer clear of this place..

They do not insure your stuff, which is SOP for all storage..your insurance will cover it..it just sucks when you drive 4 hrs to use your boat and find out it was vandalized 5 months ago and the dirtbags didnt contact you.

I'm posting mainly to let other members know that there are security issues at gateway storage and with metal storage building in general. I was pretty lucky that they didnt do any damage to my boat (they used my tools to carefully remove everything LOL). Some peeps had their engines stripped of superchargers and drives..

PS ..I still need a couple of props!! 24p bravo 4 blade
