I use Transom Sauce from Boat Bling. My 496HO leaves a decent amount of soot on the transom but i spray it over the transom and let it sit for 5 mins then take a wet rag and wipe it off. The key is to let it sit for a few minutes to soak in.

I don't have a problem with exhaust soot on my transom, but I would think the best thing would be to wax the boat heavily before use with something like Gel Gloss, so that everything easily wipes away later.

You can't go wrong with Performance Boat Candy or Hotsauce. Both make excellent products.

I use Hot Sauce and it works great. I received one of the free samples from Performance Boat Candy but have not tried it as of yet.

Speed gloss. If it is really bad then simple green and wax after.

This is what I do. If I'm out of transom sauce I'll use simple green.
