Good Metal Detector?

Was curious if anyone used a metal detector regularly and had some good personal experience with specific brands.

Would like one that will locate small amounts of gold. I might want to scan under water but walking through streams. Not necessairily diving with it.

I've read posts from johnny42 about metal detectors. I think he has some knowledge you could find helpful.

I have been doing a little research into possibly buying one too.
