Default I have a new toy and I can't play with it

I have a 74 sanger project that I will be starting in a few weeks. I have been calling around to get insurance and found out that there is no one that will insure my boat. I live in Missouri, so Al Thompson cant help me. He only works in Calif. and Arizona, and according to Al there isn't any insurance companies that will in the U.S. This is frustrating.

Here is what I have been through:

United Marine Underwriters (Rejected) - Exposed Motor
Wake Zone Ins. (Accepted) - Exposed Motor $2,500.00 yr
Markel Marine Ins. (Rejected) - Exposed Motor
Heritage Marine (Rejected) - Exposed Motor
    Progressive (Rejected) - Exposed Motor
    Geico (Rejected) - Too Old
American Family (Rejected) - Exposed Motor
NBOA Ins (Rejected) - Too Old, Exposed Motor

it was suggested to me by a freind, to get a blanket liability insurance policy. Has anyone done this?

I know this has been discussed on here several times. I need some suggestions. Hopefully you can help me out here.

    Thanks

I had the same issue when I had my Rogers. I got it insured through AAA.The first time I took in for inspection they said no because of the o.t. headers. So I took them off and they insured me no problem. $80 a year for $150,000 liability.

I used aubuchan, in O'fallon for mine, they never asked about the motor or anything. Got it covered for 95.00 a year. the only issue that i had were the length to horsepower ratio. They sent if off to be approved and it went through. I even called the water patrol and by law you don't have to have insurance on a boat, so that's always a thought.

I dont think wozencraft can insure in Missouri....I talked to her about my deal but I am in utah. The 1st time I tried farmers/foremost I was turned down do to the "race style appearance" of my boat. The second agent I tried I told him if he could do the boat I would give him my home and autos too. Whooda thunk that would work. I think they have an mph cap of 70 or 75.

Edit....my premium is under 300 bucks....but I am only insured for 7.5 k plus 3k for the trailer.
