As a former Z06 pilot I can tell you exactly what happened. The C5 driver thought he needed to turn off the "nanny devices" ie. traction control and run on his own skill and ability. The 2nd gear shift needs to be done delicately on cold tires and cold cement. Hit 2nd too hard and you get what you have hear...
My Z06 would run to 62mph in 1st and 98mph in 2nd, with the cars nanny device set to kill, it would try to kill me if I shifted too hard into 2nd or 3rd. I would leave it on safe mode till my 3rd gear shift, then set it back to kill and prepare myself for warp speed.
    Dammit i miss that car....

I bet the guy in the right lane wishes his car was a couple car lengths faster!

    That'll buff out. (smile)

As flat footn says - IF the guy cant drive his car in a straight line fast he needs to keep the nanny switch on.

We call that "running out of talent".

Simple driver error. When your car starts to break loose, you have to make a decision. He made the wrong decisions.

Z06's are not violent cars to drive, if you have decent tires.
