Sneak Peak of KAP's ride

Hello to All My Fellow PB Members:

I thought it was time to break the news about my new ride. I have been silent for quite some time but thought it was appropriate to let you know what I am doing so here is a peek at the boat.

If one looks back into September 2010, approximately 18 months ago. I embarked on a quest to build a new offshore boat [cat hull]. After a ton of research and thought process I narrowed it down to one hull.

Our new ride is a 32 Doug Wright X-Cat Poker Run Edition Model. This is the first open cockpit Doug Wright [DW's] built specifically for the pleasure boater as all other DW's have been strictly canopy race boats or conversions.

I worked with Doug to develop a boat which addressed all the needs of a pleasure boater but still maintains the best of the racing heritage. In the racing world no other hull has dominated the Superboat Stock Outboard Cat Class like Doug's. This hull has undergone testing in the X-Cat series in Dubai, racing in the WPPA series and has demonstrated phenomenol rough water, speed and handling characteristics.

The boat is still being rigged but should be done in about 3 weeks and it will meet and exceed all of your performance boating expectations. The boat will be outboard powered with a pair of Mercury Racing 300XS motors and have a full wrap around windshield with a Poker Run interior.

Performance Boats Magazine will have the exclusive photos and video once we complete water testing.

I understand many of you will have numerous questions but please be patient. I will answer all of them once we have a chance to work out all the minutia, and details during water testing including GPS speed data.

P.S. I am currently setting up a dealership for this boat here on the West Coast under the name of Doug Wright West. We will have a website which is under construction right now with all the specs. and models 32, 38, and 43...look for more details in future Performance Boat Magazine editions.

VERY COOL ! beautiful too But Hey wait theres no place for the Jet Drive Kap ??

Nice!!! I am looking forward to seeing this all come together. I know I for one would be excited to have a blank canvas to work with and make my own. Hopefully there will be many pics to follow!

Thanks guys! The boat is painted and it is killing me to not post up photos.

The rationale is.... we want the boat done and ready when we do the reveal to the public. That would include speed numbers and answering all the questions posed by performance boaters.

It looks absolutely amazing in person.... and it is a wide boat 114 inch beam with a 62 inch tunnel.

We will be attending Desert Storm Poker Run and the Lake Havasu Boat Show for sure.

I can't wait to go propeller testing and get past the break in period on the motors so I can see how she flies.

Well the truth is... it has been very difficult to keep this underwraps but I believe the finished boat will be worth the wait.

It has been a long process and I have learned a lot during this time.

I am working on the website and should have something in a few weeks just been real busy.

Whew! glad everyone likes the outcome. I have put my heart, money and tons of time into this project.
