    Default Rich Get Richer

The numbers are staggering and the affect of technology and globalization is taking its toll.

We are clearly a different economy and it didn't just happen overnight.

"Pay for college graduates has risen by 15.7 percent over the past 32 years (after adjustment for inflation) while the income of a worker without a high school diploma has plummeted by 25.7 percent over the same period."

Data will show exactly what the statisticians are hired to show. One simple fact is this:
In every society - despite the government, there are 20% of the people that get 80% of the money and the remaining 80% get to fight over the 20% that's left. Of course, these numbers vary slightly, but the simple concept is that you can take all the money from everyone in any society and a few years later the same syndrome exposes itself time and again. This success is a result of calculated risks, capital investment, implementation of superior technology or ideology and hard work. There are simply far more people willing to take the safe and secure road than the very bumpy and dangerous road less traveled which every business owner must navigate.

My formal education wouldn't qualify me to sit very high on the corporate ladder but I have always known how to make things happen so I went into business for myself at the age of 21 and have never looked back. I'll never be rich but all my kids are college educated - most with honors. They were fortunate to be raised in the upper-middle class where opportunities were plentiful and they were taught to work hard so they will always have more than the average folks just as my wife and I have enjoyed. They understand the difference between mediocrity and excellence.

There's nothing wrong with being a school teacher, factory worker or a machine operator but there are far more people seeking those positions than business ownership which will have the responsibility to employ these types. In summary, there will always be far more room at the top of the food chain than there is at the bottom. The concept is simple and it will always end up with the employers being somehow chided for their success by the security seekers.

That was about the biggest load of crap I've read in a long while. Not suprizing it came from the N.Y. Times. R&J...Did you notice that the OPINION article said that the majority of the wealth was earned and not inhereted? Or did that little kernal of info escape you? If I can conclude just one thing of value from that opinion piece it would be to stay in school and learn something...anything as high school drop outs earned 25+% less. So in your ever so humble opinion what should we do with high school drop outs? Perhaps reward them with a $125K/yr job doing what?....Wait, I got it...how about picking lettuce? Or grapes? Sweeping the halls of academia? Flipping burgers at MickeyDs? Maybe you need to re-read some of the posts that were aimed at CVXJET regarding wages, edcuation, employment etc. If you have an IQ a tad bit higher than room temperature you might gleen a few tidbits of valueable information there and learn from it. Happy reading

Just go back 40 years when a college education was harder to come by. A college diploma is now like what a high school diploma was 40-50 years ago. That being said, I know a couple people that didn't finish high school and are millionaires. Life is what you make of it. If you try hard and work hard, take the risks necessary, one can make it. If you look at some of the kids graduating college today, they expect to be VP straight out of college. No one wants to work hard anymore. There is no work ethic being taught in college. It's no wonder that OWS was predominantly college students. They want what their parents worked hard for but right out of college.

Also, when you talk about how bad off the poor are, my parents went through the depression. They sure didn't have I-Phones, a Tahoe with 22"s, gold chains, manicures, and a big screen TV! They got two presents at Christmas; one toy and a pair of shoes!!! So don't tell me that the poor have it bad and that the divide between the wealthy and poor is tremendous. Let them go to Bangladesh and see what poor is!!

Unfortunately the largest number of unemployed are the ones that didn't graduate high school. These clowns think that the rest of us should be supporting them because they made a bad decision and don't want to rectify it.

Sorry to call you out Doc, but that's a pantload.
You're one of the richest men I've ever met.

Another swing and a miss but thank you for playing.

We will continue to have massive unemployment and a huge drain on the current health/sick care system. And guess what, it is part of a continuing trend that has nothing to do with the current President. Without reform in areas of education, immigration and healthcare the situation is not likely to change.

The Rich need more money- remember, they LIVE for money, so it means more to them.....since the rest of us aren't willing to cheat, lie, steal and back stab to get more, we obviously don't have enough interest in money.....So give up some more money so the rich can feel good......and remember, this country will run better if every penny is in the hands of the 1000 people who own everything....the rest of us need to shut up, starve to death, and don't make a mess cause noone will be able to clean it up after we're gone......and the poor rich won't have anywhere to get any more money....I feel sorry for the rich.....don't you...?

There is no need to reform education other than getting parents to actually be a part of their kids lives. Too many people expect the teacher to control the kids. Got news for you, it starts at home. I agree with you on immigration. If you control that and the greedy lawyers and the ridiculous lawsuits, you'll see a huge change in the cost of healthcare. People don't realize how much a strain on the system that illegal immigrants play on our system. The reason you pay $5 for an aspirin is because four illegals didn't pay their $1. Also, frivolous lawsuits for crackheads that sue doctors because their kids are born with defects don't help things.
If this government decides to create a more business friendly atmosphere, then you won't have companies moving out.

aSo tell me Lenin nut winger, what do you think your idol Marx do in a case like this?
Which of the following is failing to accomplish your mission for this country? You do realize that we live under more of this points than not. You don realize this IS the reason and the cause of the country's ills. We didn't have these issues before federal, state, and city unionized social service workers, 4 million plus federal employees, millions and millions more state and local UNION employees, more and more socialism shoved down our throats. Socialism/communism has failed everywhere its been tried, and yet you lazy ass POS are still trying to push the agenda. You make me ill!

Like 058 posted, the VAST majority of the wealth in this country was EARNED. The vast majority of that through entrepreneurship. The ford family COMBINED are worth less in todays dollars than Henry Ford was in 1927. Explain that. did they blow the money, or did your communist state take it? Have an answer for that?

Your just bitter because you didn't inve1.Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.

1.Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
2.A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
3.Abolition of all right of inheritance.
4.Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
5.Centralisation of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
6.Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
7.Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
8.Equal liability of all to labour. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
9.Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of the population over the country.
10.Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labour in its present form and combination of education with industrial production.
nt the Iphone, or Windows, or throw a 105 MPH fast ball. Well tough shit. Get over it. Your a piece and have no business having what you have now. Why you hate the person that bought you everything you have and ever will is beyond me. Why you are so insistent on destroying that individual is insane, but I'll be damn if you, Havasu 1986, ram and all the others are giving it your best shot. I ask you, Then what?

Hey R&J, try something new for a change. Instead of throwing out one of you propaganda posts a cutting and running, stick around and fight your cause you piece pof shit. You seem to be unable to back up a single fucking post you ever toss up. No balls, or no facts?

What part of your heros list is letting you down R&J. Like I said, over half are already in place. Which point should the country adopt next. Which direction should YOUR POTUS take us to fix what you think is the problem?

Is there any subject you actually have a clue about? Maybe you should stick with A/C discussions?

Success is so much more than money! It's making wise choices and reaping the rewards and consequences that such choices afford. I have two close friends who have huge companies here in the Phoenix area that employ tens of thousands of people. Both of these guys have put their entire survival on the line so many times you couldn't count them. Huge risks have been taken time and again but they calculate those risks - take them and never look back. One got booted out by his own board of directors so he raised $3.4 Billion (with a B) to purchase all the stock and buy his own company back to keep things run the way he intended it to be run when he had less than a dozen employees. It had so much less to do with financial success short term and so much more to do with company stability and long term success which included employee retention, operational excellence, financial wisdom, maintenance of the original mission statement and long term growth.

Money is but one byproduct of excellence in business, but only a businessman would know that. Others simply point and call them "rich" as if employing tens of thousands of good people was somehow a bad thing that they should be ashamed of.

Doc, is there any wonder in your mind why people like CVX, ram and the others are not successful at ANYHING.
Its funny, but this is exactly the same whiney bullshit you hear in boat racing. It the money that makes the winners, and the money that is ruining racing and the money that............
Ever notice that the very people that have no clue about MONEY ar the ones that whine. It is there very stupidity that keeps them from being successfull and yet that very stupidity is what makes them believe its due to someone or something else. No way in hell it could possibly be them and their extreme IQs that keep them from being successfull.

You see Doc, it was the employer at the dam that caused CVX not to get that job, not his own personally choice, OR ABILITY. It ALWAYS soembody else fault for there short comings in life.

BY THE WAY, WHERE is THE THREAD STARTER IN ALL THIS. Typical of that puke for a person. He cuts and runs right after tossing up some of his socialist propoganda. Marx would be so proud of him.
