Was Yesterday the Bigining Of The Death Of Unions ?

Sure seems so. Many state legilatures are only a seat or two shy of GOP control with Rep Gov at the helm. Seems the 2012 elections at the state level could be just as important as the Fed. I have said bevore I predict a hard shift to the right for this country and I believe it is starting.

It's the TEA Party principals being implemented, accepted and embraced by Americans. Of course, there are die hard entitlement class - type democrats that refuse to allow America to be better for our children than their selfish selves. They don't like to use the word unsustainable. They know the future generations will refer back to it often enough. They just want the road paved long enough for them to drive over it.

It was a monumental day in America. We are now on a long road to recovery with most of the obsticles removed. We have one more in November and after that last obsticle is gone America will have a clear path to prosperity. The unions and their minions have been defanged and people are now free to choose union representation or not. No more extortion of dues, no more pay the union boss to work. People that excell in their jobs will now be rewarded and recognized for their skill, achevement and ability. No more reduce production down to the lowest common denominator so that all workers are the same. I predict a renewed interest in rebuilding industry in this country that will provide jobs based on skill and knowledge and not jobs protected by a union card....Yes, a great day indeed but we still have a long way to go but this is a good start to rebuild this country back into the economic powerhouse it once was.

I doubt it will be the death of unions. They serve a purpose when run correctly, and run for the benefit of both the worker and the employee. They were simply taken over thru the years by greedy socialist assholes.
No doubt though, its is a warning shot that they need to rethink their agenda and get tem back inline with the average American worker.
If they don't wake up and realize its not all about them, they will parish. No doubt.
Its a de-fanging for sure. And the beast needed it. The country demanded it.

The internet has allowed all of us to find out answers to questions that trouble us so. Without the internet, would we know that the city manager of Vernon, population 100, would be getting a $600,000 a year pension?

When the average workier finds out his tax dollars are paying people a $100,000 a year not to work they get pissed. 27% of San Jose's budget goes to retired workers...$275 million a year...for retired city employees???

Unions are done, they just don't know it!

Not all unions are evil! Union mandates are. When the choice to join or not is afforded all employees, the benefits will be realized.

I guess I should have said Public unions. Seems to me if other states give the employees the right to choose more will choose not to be in the union than those that choose to stay in. Thier reduced #'s will all but neuter them from controlling Gov's. and screwing taxpayers.

As I've said in the past, all the states should be right to work states. No one should be forced to join a group as a provision of employment in which one is forced to pay dues.
I know many people that belong to a union. Most are hard workers. Some are as useless as tit's on a bull. I've also known people that have gotten into trouble with the union for working hard. Some that have started out as good workers fell into the trap of being lazy. Why work hard if the guy next to you is slacking off and getting the same pay? Unions work under a socialist ideology.
While they had their place and still may have their place, they have become obsolete in their current form. Per my past posts on unions, union officials only have their own interest at heart, not those of the industry or their rank and file.
Richard Trumpka continually blasts corporations for having executives that make a very good living. Funny thing is, he lives in the same neighborhood and plays golf at the same country clubs, yet he provides nothing. HE provides no jobs. Look into what jobs he personally has forced overseas due to his parasitical practices. You can try to blast Bain Capital all you want, but he and other unions leaders have done more to kill jobs in the US!
