    Default Chick-fil-A appreciation day

Looks like they had a great turn out. Regardless how you feel about gay marriage it was nice to see people come out in droves over FREE SPEECH.
IMHO The CEO said what he said and if you don't like it don't go to their restaurants. I'm getting so sick of this politically correct crap I cant stand it anymore. I don't even like Chick-fil-A (in full discloser I own Burger King stock that just posted great #s by the way - BKW) but even I know they are Christen owners so what do they expect? Hell they are not even open on Sunday but someone ... anyone thought they would be for gay marriage?
So now on Friday they are going to be protested by the gay community. Protested...because a christen base company is not for gay marriage. They never said that gays are not welcome at their stores. They don't discriminate against gays but yet they deserve being protested against. People are so extreme anymore. You have to be on one side or the other and if you are not on my side look out. The beginning of the end of civility and society.

Then I'll be back on Friday, that will be interesting.

By making a decision to eat there or protest and not eat there, you're becoming involved in politically correct crap people hate so much.

I had a frozen lunch thingy today. I wasn't in the mood for chicken so I didn't eat chicken. If on Friday I'm craving a Chik Fil A burger, I will go get one. When did a food decision become so complicated? Do I need to carry a reference guide book any time I make a purchase? Conservatives throw out your Oreos and your Coca Cola. Liberals cast away your chicken sandwiches. Myself, I will continue to frequent business that I consider superior to others and not those that share my personal or political beliefs. Just another election year topic that everyone dredges up simply to polarize the populace into more and more bickering and partisanship.

If I was to make a decision to eat at CFA based on something political, I'd eat there today and refuse to do it on Friday. I'd do it to support bi-partisanship. But I won't because this whole issue is idiotic. It's just food and opinions. Everyone is free to have one.

I beg to differ in regards to this being a pro liberal or anti conservative message. I believe the statement that people are making today is in support of our first ammendment rights , not anti liberal or pro conservative, as well as a backlash to the media with their own political bias, that expected a different outcome.

I do agree with your comments in bold. BTW, it makes more sense for people that support gay marriage to start backing libertarians politically and not Democrats. Democrats are just pondering for the vote, just as Obama with his sudden change on the issue an the way the have pondered to the poor and the minorities.

But the first amendment applies to both sides. The mayors in question had the same right CFA did. The only possible thing that could or should be protested is if the mayors actually did something illegal to block the opening of a restaurant. That's a whole different matter.

CFA is free to state their opinion just as the mayors are. As long as it's just their opinion. And as a mayor, they do act as the voice of their community. If their community doesn't like what the voice of their community is saying, they can vote them out.

If you want to show support for first amendment rights, then you should be supporting both sides. Which I do, because they are both free to speak it. But I'm not going to change my eating habits over 2 differing opinions. I'll eat whatever I should eat and want to eat . Maybe this evening I'll go swing by and grab a CFA sandwich and then turn around Friday and refuse to go there.

No, who made death threats? I honestly haven't been keeping up with any of this because it was just a bunch of people bickering over a difference of opinion and I have better things to do than get involved with opinions. If I did that, I'd get nothing done.

The death threats were made when this clusterf*ck started a couple of weeks ago. Then the disgusting whale, Roseann said she wishes everyone who eats at a CFA gets cancer and dies. So much for tolerance, understanding and respect for someone else's beliefs and opinions.

Well those people need to face our judicial system and be punished accordingly. I can't stand people like that. They are in the same class of people as rioters who use it as an excuse to simply loot other's stuff.

Looking to do some queer bashing? Sorry, that was the obligatory QJ response.

Still, I bet the press will be salivating hoping that violence breaks out somehow.

Maybe some queers will swing their handbags at AZm and he can get on the news. Oops, sorry again, that was the obligatory rti response. Somebody stop me.

Let's face some inescapable facts, shall we?
Traditional marriage is under attack by the liberals. Alternative lifestyle proponents are pushing their agendas in every state in the US today.

Whether we want to face the facts or not, our purchases, in corporate America, produce profits that are often used to further agendas. For instance, Home Depot and J.C. Penney corporations are financially supporting and openly promoting alternative lifestyles. As a result, you can choose to turn your head and ignore the facts - stand in full support - or discontinue support as a result of their decisions on how to spend their profits.

No matter your choice, you are either furthering or repressing such support with your purchase dollars. You may not care but that doesn't change the facts that you are still participating with your money. As long as there is a choice, I believe it's wise to know what our shopping dollars support.

Mr. Cathy spoke his personal belief about traditional marriage and the entire liberal community spoke out with the liberal media's support. The fact of the matter is that these same liberal media outlets will NOT be airing front page stories about Chic-fil-A sales lately, which are way off the charts as a direct result of the liberal's failed attempt to hurt the company who clearly does not support their agenda.

What bothers me most is the fact that these same Christian values Mr. Cathy stands for has his stores closed every Sunday nationwide without a peep from these same liberals. This is a direct result of following Christian values, right? The same Christian values that have been removed from the courthouses across the nation? The same Christian values that have prayers in school now seen as a criminal offense? The same Christian values many of our Founding Fathers spoke so dearly about when they created this great nation? Why have these liberals not picketed such an obvious Christian organization every day? Why did they have to wait for Mr. Cathy to speak of other Christian beliefs? The hypocrisy is off the charts with these groups and it clearly shows across America today as their stores are being overrun with business from patrons who understand that their purchase dollars do more than further business as usual. See you all there Friday?
The best things in life aren't things!
