GM looks to be headed to bankruptcy again. Well, if the government leaves them alone they might actually be able to accomplish what they tried the first time and lean down this company to move forward rather than indebt it further and move the last remnants offshore.

Every cent that was given to help GM in the first place went straight to support the UAW. They screwed everyone else that was not tied to the union.

this is why I dont like unions,they know the Co. and the country is not doing well and they still want top dollor,I own my own business and see customers jobs that arent good money makers so instead of not working I lower my rate to keep US working,some job are just that way,Now if I were the Union I would go to GM and work out a deal so we all can keep our jobs,Im down 70% and allmost sold everything to keep my houses so dont tell me they cant take a cut!!!!!!!!

Baja, although I 100% agree with EVERYTHING you said, I do have to say that SOME unions, like the UAW, and the teachers union, and 99.99999% of the public works/civil service unions are money grubbing self center bastards, there are MANY consturction unions and non PUBLIC unions that have taken some pretty deep cuts in hourly and benefit pay.
The UAW willl either get the message, or fail. Same with the public sector/civil service AND GOVERNMENT ELECTED OFFICALS local, state and federal. They will either get their "fee for service" costs under control, or face the effects of their decisions

As long as the Kenyan is at the helm of this Titanic, there will be NO BANKRUPTCY!!! That could mean shedding lots of pension weight, labor costs, union contracts and compensations and he simply won't have that for his voters.
