Ruh Roh....prelim findings show drivers at fault

Latest Walls Street Journal article shows independant testing of Toyota data - drivers seem to be having the Audi 4000 delusion.

The DOT simply cant find any problems.

Third party analysis of the black box data shows them stepping on the GAS - NOT the brake.

Look at the "complaint chart" raise and fall. Ok the floormat thing is one thing, and could there have been a problem or two- sure but the endemic problem simply doesnt seem to exist and more accurately if you crash your car the excuse de-jour was "the car did it".

Remember back in the Audi cases how many things had to happen ....

1. The brake system "fails" completely - but magically returns to normal after the accident with no tampering.

2. The acelerator "sticks wide open , or opens up all the way without me touching it " - but again msyteriously returns completely to normal after the accident.

Lets show some accountability for our own actions people.

I was in the street and my brother was the one to turn off a vehicle that threw it's driver into the road and continued on a rampage through an embankment and ended up high centered on a post. The vehicle was bouncing off of the rev limiter in gear. I inspected it before it was shut off and after. There was NO FLOORMAT INTERFERENCE AT ALL!!! The throttle was friggin STUCK WIDE OPEN!
I had a chance to meet a filthy wealthy man and speak with him about reality in the world of big business. I mentioned something about the latest tests I had heard. He immediately stopped me and said simply; "The latest and greatest tests will show exactly what my money tells it to show."
93 dead because of a floormat? Nope. Can't buy it!

This should get pretty interesting if anyone takes the time to ferret out fraudualent claims. Toyota's image took a pretty firm shot and if it was all based on fraud or plain stupidity, they damned sure have the right to hunt somebody down and "gut" them.

Agreed, thing is in these tests they were conducted by the DOT not toyota.

DOT demanded the proprietary data reader and toyota very reluctantly complied, but comply they did, and the independent findings show the drivers have been at fault.

What did the documentation say about your incident

Did the brakes fail too and magically and return to normal after the accident?

Just like in the case of the Audi - the third party data shows the driver at fault standing on the wrong pedal.

the DOT, GM, and NASA have been looking at this and if they found anything wrong with the toyota engine management systems we would ALL know immediately.

Ever notice the nerdy democrat lookin' milquetoast types driving Toyota Prieus?These helpless dumb asses paid way too much for an underpowered ugly turd just so they would feel OK about driving around. No surprise to me that these ferns can't even drive the electric hybrid turd properly. Again Darwinism is evident.

Yes, I see this a lot & a prius is ugly.

I also see people that can drive anything they want - driving them.

Not being a "compact car" kind of guy I prefer to ride in much more style comfort and thus pay more for gas.

If I had a 75 mile a day commute I might think otherwise but until then.......

I cant imagine picking up the VP I did at Universal today in a Prius.

Thing is regardless of what you or I think of the vehicle, its a commercial success.

Actually I know quite a few conservatives who drive Prius's (and I agree they are ugly) only because of getting 40 to 50 MPG. PapaG here on the forums has 2, last I heard.
