Default Wonder where exactly the recovery / stimlus money was spent ????

Here is the info. Wall to wall America was literally papered with money to keep our economy afloat. This website is very comprehensive with names and contracts. The interactive maps are incredible. Some of your friends and neighbors may be benefactors. Check out your area. There is more money not spent. Maybe some here can apply! Some of you analytical guys will have fun going through this very interesting visual and informational website.

Hey AZ lets use a little imagination and get in on the action. How about you hire me as a consultant. I'll come up with a plan to hire minorities to build and drop off 2,000 1000 lb steel balls and chains all around Tucson. If anyone owns anything of value they can lock their car, bike , motorcycle, wife, dog, or anything of value to these heavy steel balls for free. I will also get these steel balls designated as neighborhood "Art" with nifty culturally sensitive painting on them. We will also need grant money to purchase some big trucks and lifts to move these things around. You will be able to sell a boat load of steel for this great security and cultural stimulus project! To get the grant we'll need to change our names of course. El Zombie and AzMargarita might do.

More seriously, If America hopefully does come back strong by next election Obama will rightfully claim credit. This unbelievable gamble of papering America with federal money to stimulate jobs and the economy may pay off. Keep your fingers crossed it works. If not we will really be in deep sh*t..

This clown and his adminastration are truly a joke. Spend trillions keeping people at home comfortable with there unemployment checks. I know the times are tough but why not build tanks, jets, ships bridges or something to put people to work. Hell Kennedy spent money to get people on the moon. NOOOOOOOOOOO. Let spend these trillions on cheap chinese sink stoppers and keep the chinese employed. What ever happened to O's promise to get energy indepentant, hell theres 750 billion every year we could use right here in the USA. No, we needed the Healthcare D.A.D.T. snowjobs, all this fella seems to do is spend money with no thought of what will make this country go. I know this has been said so many times before on this forum, but as long as we keep sending the money to other countries I don't see the benefit to this country.
Need help finding this 1973 Sanger 18'6" bubble deck mahogany bottom and stringers I was living in Pomona when I sold her in 1979. Just wonder if she still exists

I typed my zip in to see if anything was going on in my area... The website hung up.

EDIT: I got it now. Wow!!! Man we racked up! 2mil in contracts and 6mil in grants!!!

1 person hired... and it all went to local and Parish government. And my property taxes are due.

    • $308 million for a joint clean energy venture with…BP

    • $89,298 to replace a new sidewalk that leads to a ditch in Boynton, OK

    • $3.8 million for a “streetscaping” project that has reduced traffic and caused a business to fire two employees

    • $16 million to help Boeing to clean up an environmental mess it created in 2007

    • $200,000 to help Siberian communities lobby Russian policy makers

    • $39.7 million to upgrade the statehouse and political offices in Topeka, Kansas

    • $760,000 to Georgia Tech to study improvised music

    • $700,000 to study why monkeys respond negatively to inequity

    • $193,956 to study voter perceptions of the economic stimulus

    • $363,760 to help NIH promote the positive impacts of stimulus projects

Hmm, my area got $34,674,835. And 13.58 jobs.

Should've just given the money to me. I could have created at least 100. For about 6 months. Then have to lay everyone off because I have an enormous inventory not moving. Throwing huge amounts of 1 time money does not create permanent jobs.

My Zip got 15,000,000 in Grants, created 0.41 jobs

Another 20 million or so and we would have 1 whole job created
I'd agree with you, but then we would both be wrong
