Agreed...But the last 2 months our sales have been the best in over 2 years.

The work is inside existing buildings. Remodels, upgrades, tenant improvement etc... No new construction hardly at all.

Yes I am in the fire sprinkler business. We do get a alot of work from the fire department and insurance companies. But its no different from before. We do a lot of T.I. in the high rises downtown, Century City and in the OC. My biggest job last month was a beer distribitor who moved all of his little warehouses into a 280K warehouse. New offices, coolers, exercise rooms, a huge meeting room called the "Clydesdale Room". Our bidding is way up also lately.

I had a window replacement project and the lathers were watching us do the install and doing their patchwork as soon as we put them in. They said they had nothing else to do.

My friend who is a drywall contractor had his lowest payroll period in 20 years last week.

I had a kitchen demo contract to do last week, with not much to do I decided not to use any employees but do it myself with the help of my cousin (who is an out of work concrete contractor). I think the homeowner was surprised to see a couple of 50 year old white guys doing manual labor.
