No it isn't. In the early years of our country (before the government started micromanaging the economy) we had more frequent economic downturns but the recovery's were also much quicker. Besides only a fool would think that this is over, for many the problems are just beginning....
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

rant 1 economy
there are many problems with the statements you are making. first let me break down the hole that America is in right now. during the last years of clinton and the first years of bush congress (mainly dems) pushed to make home owning easier. then home prices went way to far up and then two things happend, 911 and then after that during the peek of the market peoples adj-rate and ARM morgages changed causing peoples payments to to go up. now let me ask you what happends when you are going to loose your home?? you stop spending money, let you cars get repo'ed etc. till finnaly yor home is taken from you. this is why the economy is crap, it is not just one mans fault. let me say that agian not any one mans fault, bush just happend to be in office when all this went down, it would have happend to anyone who was president while this happend.
Rant 2 obama
obama doubled the debt first year in office. his so called new jobs are BS. they are doing nothing but taking old jobs renaming them and saying they are creating new ones. btw stats can be made to show whatever you want them to say.
Rant 3 Obama.
everyone gave bush crap about staying in the middle east right? obama says he is going to bring them home after he is elected, lier never happend in fact he sent more. but i dont see anyone calling him out on that.
This is a huge oversimplification of what happened and what caused it. I'm not saying the things you mentioned did not contribute to the economic slowdown, but there was a lot more to it than what you list here. I don't think anyone will claim that it was just Bush's fault, and I know I never have.
Obama doubled the debt? Yeah, not really. Did spending go up? Absolutely, that's how you kick start the economy, it is classic Keynesian economics. If you were paying attention Bush increased spending while he was in office after the economy tanked also.
As far as your claim that jobs haven't been created from the increase in spending, the CBO would tend to disagree with you. Are hiring numbers as robust as we would like them to be? Certainly not, but we are adding more jobs than we are losing, with even taking into account the new people that are entering the work force, so we are headed in the right direction. Please don't fault me for choosing to take the word of the CBO over yours.
Obama never said he would pull out of the Middle East, he said he would pull out of Iraq. All the combat troops were withdrawn last year, and all the security forces will be withdrawn later this year per our agreement with the Iraqis. It is impossible to just pull everyone out overnight. It took years to build up everything we have over there, and it will take a while to pull out. As far as Afghanistan, Obama has increased boots on the ground and made huge increases to the number of UAV strikes. Why has he done this? Because after the invasion of Iraq, Bush backed off in Afghanistan, and Obama knows, we are never going to get out of there without making an effort to finish the job.
