Agreement will bring Outlets to Wild Horse Pass


The link is to an article stating Firebird international Raceway will be plowed under for a shopping mall after the the 2013 NHRA National event. The article does not say what will happen to the lake.

Oh, if Bruton Smith and SMI would only enter the Phoenix market! Ownership is more than 1/2 of the problem of Fireturd.

Same sort of situation going on at the new Gateway International after GP Association of LB poured millions into building a new facility...

Is it this economy OR is it difficult to make money owning/running a racetrack?

Why would Lucas step up to this problem? They are probably stoked they dont have to come to Firebird anymore. They hate it! I wish someone would come in though cause nobody like Charlie.....

I'm not sure about Lucas hating Firebird. I'm certainly not hearing that from anybody. Until Wheatland was built, it was hands down the best DBR facility in the country, water and all. No worries about water levels, the lack thereof, or too much. No worries about other boat traffic, rebound waves, spectator area, pits, etc. With a couple minor improvements, like an exit ramp in the cove, it could be as good as Wheatland. They will never be able to race early or late in the year at Wheatland. Until something better comes along to fill that void, I don't see Lucas wanting Firebird to go away. JMO.

Scotty ya missed one tiny thing. THERE WILL NEVER BE SWIMMING IN FIREBIRD. The water does weird stuff to people.

Oh there's swimming there alright. Maybe not the general public, but they swim.
