Default Rex acquires Vicious Billet Speaker Grills

    Press Release:

Rex Marine has acquired all Speaker Grill inventory from Vicious Billet. Rex will be servicing Vicious Billet distributors going forward. Once inventory is sorted out we will be offering some deep discounts on some overstocked styles, first to Vicious distributors, then on what's left to the public. More detail to come later.

We also have an undetermined amount of blank grills for those who may wish to machine or waterjet their own design. Depending on demand we may continue to offer these going forward.

Vicious Billet grills are produced out of 5052-H32 formed aluminum. The material machines, polishes, and anodizes great. Stock offerings will be in polished. Anodized and Powder Coated colors will be available on a special order basis.

Standard styles currently include: Tribal, Flames, Bars, Spinner, and Girls (in that order of popularity). Sizes include 6.5" round (pairs), 6 x 9 oval (pairs), 8" round (each), 10" round (each), and 12" round (each).

    Thumbs up

    Cool deal.

This seems like a great time to pimp up a boat, since it's not easy to finance a new one these days.

I'm not Rexone nor have I ever worked for Rex Marine.

I'm just a guy who thinks it's cool to see Rex Marine scoop up a cool product like this. This is a time when business are hurting, no where more so than in this industry, so it's refreshing to see Rex Marine looking forward.

I don't wish to dump on other elements in the marine industry, they are fighting for survival. I'm sure sales aren't setting any records at Rex Marine, either. Sooner or later things are going to pick up again. I really hope it's sooner.

That was a super cool tour.

I've never seen so much billet. I was picking up everything I saw and playing with it. Mike didn't say anything the whole time, he just sucked it up and pretended not to be annoyed.

I saw some cool Impy's steering wheels in process, as well as a broad cross section of the catalog of billet parts. Seeing so many billet pieces provides a perspective you can't get by looking at parts hung on a wall.

Maybe I can get a job at Rex Marine running their new speaker grill division.

The closest I've ever been to having a stereo in a boat is when I put a 12v accessory outlet in my ski boat so I could plug in a ghetto blaster or cooler.

... although I'm thinking of putting about a dozen 15" subwoofers, dozens of amplifiers, and a pair of of 4" full range satellites into my 12' Daytona so I can play that rap music the kids dig so much. I'll put in a 12v accessory outlet too, so I'll have a lighter to blaze a cuban tree when my PO lets me go to the lake. I'm gonna get all up in this bizziach.

On an even more serious note, there is no question some shiny Rex Marine billet parts will find their way onto my latest project. ... shoulda never toured your shop.

Congrats Mike, wouldn't hurt to put up a few pics of the product...
I don't know who you are and I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you....

Thanks scoooter. Grills are on website also. Granted I do need to take some fresh pictures, these are weak at best (I didn't shoot them but that's no excuse.)

The stuff on ebay is all the in-stock colors we're selling at cost to liquidate. We will still do colors just by special order only. Standard stuff in stock will all be polished as soon as these colors are gone.

Hey Mike, are their any drawings of what the bolt pattern is? I'm curious if a set of the 8" round grilles will cover my Memphis Audio 8" coaxials which I never found a replacement grille for. The stock plastic ones didn't make a season. I designed new ones, but they were going to be $175 each! I just can't spend $1100 on speaker grilles for the boat.
