Default Will a new Tahoe with the 5.3 tow a 28foot deck boat? Woops, wrong forum.

I currently have the new Crew Chevy truck with the 5.3 and I know it will tow a 28ft+ boat. Will a new Tahoe tow one? I know the SUVs have lower tow ratings. What is the GVR on a new Tahoe? How much does a Magic or comparable 28 foot deck weigh?

WOOPS... should have put this in the tow vehicle forum. Mods and you please move. ..

If you buy this be affluent in the 2Forcefull Sales practices. You won't have it long. A 323 cu inch anything towing 7-8K will not work well.

Probably not. It will work over the short term, but you will quickly find you want something else. This is not from personal experience driving one, but from watching others.

We won't be towing far. Worst case scenario would be 15min from the house.

If thats the case then I don't think it would be a problem. As long as you aren't trying to pull it out on a steep slippery ramp then a 4x4 might be wise. If you plan on towing far that transmission won't live.

i have a tahoe and tow my 26 with a triple axle trailer. i only tow about 5 miles to the marina and back so its not a problem. Hopefully you can find someone here that uses the tahoe with a 28 footer to really tell the difference. If I had to tow long distances, I would not want to tow with my tahoe, maybe because i was used to a f250 4x4 crew and it hauled great.

Go denali or escalade. They both have more power and are available all wheel drive. I think they are giving those away now..I should have waited six months

Hell, we put our Magic deck in with a 4wd S-10 Blazer before at Havasu Palms.

Our neighbor's use a '94 2dr 4wd Tahoe to put there 34' Advantage deck in the water.

For that short of a distance, It should work fine.

Ok I'll say it. Chevy's have enough trouble towing themselves around let alone towing a 5000lb boat.
