    Default Trailer lights stay on

Hope this is the right forum for this. Anyway, my trailer lights do not turn off and on with the tow vehicle head lights. They also stay on when the tow vehicle is turned off. I just had the wiring done in the trailer and don't feel like driving an hour back to the mechanic. Thought I would run it by you guys before I call him tomorrow. Any idea what is going on? Thanks

If its the round 7-way on the the truck, it has a constant power for camping trailer house battery charging. Might have the trailer light wire in the wrong position on the plug. Look at the cover on the big 7-way, it might have a legend of what post does what.

Question? Do all the turn, brake and running lights work correct? If so I will ask what is so bad about having lighting for towing a boat? To me it sounds like a safety feature more than a problem unless it is pulling the battery or charging system down. I have seen to many boats or trailers going down the road without enough lighting. Might be a good thing????

Actually what happens is that when the truck is turned off (parked) and still hooked up and plugged into the boat trailer the trailer lights stay on. So every time I park with the boat hooked up I have to unplug the trailer so the battery doesn't drain. But yes all the brake, tai lights and turn signals work fine. I just haven't had time to check the wiring.
