    Default FYI 2007.5+ Durmax Owners.

For those with the new Duramax and hate the exhaust tip...

I have a polished tip being made that will get rid of the ugly satin colored musket tip and can be used with the stock exhaust system. When done and if it works I will be having more made if anyone is interested.

Let Me Know If It Works! I Picked Up A 2008 Silverado 2500 Hd 4x4 Wednesday Night And Even Asked My Salesman And The Parts Department If They Had Something Better Looking To Replace That Ugly Ass Tip With And They Said No.

gm is blocking warranties like never before for aftermarket mods, our district gm manager said it was put to him that "this was of the highest priority to gm". gm is suffering in this economy and is looking to rebute alot of warranty claims due to aftermarket mods. the exhaust system on a dmax isn't something to be messin with these days now that they've went to particulate filtered exhaust systems. touch the exhaust, have a motor/or turbo failure, and you're up shit creek as far as gm is concerned. some of you may read that statement and say "i gotta guy at the dealership", well that may be but that guy don't mean squat when gm sends out an inspector i've seen it 1st hand, i'm a gm foreman and master tech, and it happened to 1 of my customers here.he put a free flow exhaust on, melted down the turbo , turbo pieces shot into the motor, gm inspector told him you're on your own.

sorry for the jack, the tip is sweeet

fyi, gm is actively looking for warranty claims involving power tuners as well. if you've gotten a recall letter recently for a software update, keep in mind, when the tech hooks your truck up to the internet to download that recall software, gm looks and inspects that software removed for tampering or tuner mods. if they see a tuner software in there, say bye bye to your powertrain warranty gm will block it

A good CST 6" should do the trick more often than not...

Just what I was thinking. My dealer offered to put programmer on my truck at their expense to recalibrate my tire size. But SuperChip and Hypertech have not come out with one yet. They told me that If I want to get a programmer that adds HP they will pay for half but they wont promise to cover any repairs under warranty. I understand their point.

I run the CST 6". Clears 35" just fine. You will need to cut out some plastic from the front wheel well.
