if they had the intake off, they had to take loose some grounds as already suggested. i'd get under the hood and put a wrench on every ground i could find and also feel behind the heads for any loose grounds and if ya can get on em, tighten em up.
they wanted you to watch the engine lite cause if it didn't come on at all, the engine computer wasn't "awake" or working.watch for it, if its the ecm the lite won't even come on when you just have the key in run position, don't even have to crank it. all vehicle do a bulb check and the ecm will check the lite circuit. kinda sounds like a cranksensor to me though, lack of injector pulse and spark leads me away from the cam sensor. cam sensor has nothing to do with initial crank up other than get the injectors firing in sequence, the crank sensor is kingdingaling during start up. if the crank sensor is cheap, put 1 in it yo self.
