    Default Hey beer 30

Paul- What's up? The dually is coming along nicely. It goes in Monday for paint and some simple graphics. Putting the GMC nose on it with a Trenz 30 bar billet grille and completely smooth front bumper with no plate box. The Gaylord smooth lid is on it and a fresh coat of Victory red and some simple graphics will give it a fresh face. Putting all new seals in the doors and window regulators. The rear is getting a shaved tailgate and smooth rear bumper which will be match painted. I plan to lightly tint the front side windows and bolt up some classic looking Alcoas. I put the Stage 8 locking header bolts on it and took off the dual Flowmasters and installed a single dual in and single out CGS stainless muffler with fresh tailpipe and tip. Truck is much quieter and actually builds better bottom end torque and power. After the paint I plan to take it to Line-X and get the bed sprayed. After that a quick tranny service, diff. service, and replacement of the A/C blower. After all that she'll be ready for many future summers.

Sounds great! I saw it in the April issue. Looks like all minitrucks for May. I'll keep an eye out for June.

Let me know when you get close to doing the diff. I'll point you to the exact label I put in it before.

I always wondered if that exh was a little TOO free flowing for a gasser. Guess so. The wife never liked the noise either, so you're not alone.

    Good job.

I told you she was in good hands. Watch the mag for more articles to come. I decided to keep the 16's for load rating, ride quality and dependability. This ones a keeper.

We went Mini Truck heavy in May. Lots of folks still running them and with gas where its at they are certainly popular right now. I bought a little S-10 so the dually stays parked most of the time.

The mag is still predominately a full size GM magazine so don't lose faith. I have also launched a Diesel section to show the Diesel owners how to tune and gain more power. Stay tuned.

Paul- Fresh Victory Red basecoat is laid, graphics are taped, sprayed, and airbrushed. Should de-mask tomorrow to see finished artwork. we'll stripe the hood and tailgate later this week and clearcoat. Cut and polish it Monday and re-assemble Tuesday with fresh GMC nose, shaved tailgate, smoothed handles. Right before we leave for Memorial it will get the bed Line-x'd and then we are off to the lake. I'll take some pics of it with the boat hooked. Should look nice. I'm still on the hunt for some Alcoas and plan to smoke the front windows. I'lll keep you updated and will e-mail some pics when out of paint. I believe I still have your e-mail address.

Cool. I looked at the latest StreetTrucks tonight and only saw the little portion about the header bolts. That was weird that they were coming loose. I would check them every oil change and they were never loose?

That was all I saw about it.

Paul- Pick up the August issue when it comes out. That will have part 1 of body work and paint. September we will show the graphics being created. Header bolts did back off a touch but we rectified that with those Stage 8 bolts. I put a new polyurethane transmission mount in and need to shim the pinion angle on the driveshaft as it has begun making some noise with the new angle. The truck should look real nice when it is complete. My painter was thankful for how well you cared for it over the years-virtually no door dings. Thanks man!

You're welcome. I already have people talking about buying this one when I am done with it.

I have a bunch of DynaMat and some new speakers for the new truck - along with new chrome door handles. So, it will be a "pull a panel, put on a bunch of Dmat, put in a new speaker, replace door handle, replace panel" thing. If you want to get together when I do it - for a DIY article or something, let me know. I haven't officially planned when I will be tearing into it. Otherwise, I'll just get-er-done.

Let me know. I have an interior/audio issue coming up which that will fit perfect in. We de-mask the graphics today so I'll be able to see them pop off the red.

When would you need to shoot/do the interior dealio to make your deadline?

Would you want to do it there? or come here? Naturally, I have my tools here and had planned to do it here - but if it would benefit both of us, I can easily travel down there.

If you think it's worth doing, let's make it happen. If not, I am going to do it anyway so no biggie on my end.

Let me know when you are ready. I could come up there in the dually. That way you can see it in person.

Paul-I was at the paint shop today and the truck was completely de-masked and it looks awesome. It still needs to be re-assembled and cut and polished but is going to look bitchin. Some new wheels/tires and the makeover is complete. I'll e-mail pics as soon as I get it back and you will see it in the magazine of course.
