Very nice rebuild, cant wait to hear the results of freeing up the exhaust. Thanks for taking the time to post up the story and pics. Filed this one away for future reference.

This boat really could use a new intake manifold. I'm thinking a Stealth or RPM Air Gap......
Great thread, really diggin it...You did a helluva job on the boat, lookin damn nice.

Posted this in another thread for feedback, but the red is the existing wiring (10-12 gauge), and blue (8 gauge) is the addition to handle the increased capacity. Seems like a simple solution to re-doing ALL the wires in the charging circuit unless I'm missing something.
That's the buss bar on the back of the engine. I only put 4 terminals on it for the circuits I was talking about, but it also has o/press, distributor, tach, etc terminals on it.
Installed the alternator and it works flawlessly. It's so much nicer having a high output alt with dual batteries than the single battery that was in the Circus boat. I can keep the stereo cranked all day and KNOW I have enough juice left to start up again.....![]()
