Default how do i rebuild my trailer???

My trailer is getting a little rusty, so I want to blast it, and repaint it. One little problem. My boat is on it. How have some of you handled re painting your trailers ? I don't have anyone with a spare trailer either to borrow.

What size boat? Are we talking about an 18' flattie or a 46' Skater? Details man, we need details!!!

If it's a bigger boat, how about renting a slip at your local lake and leaving it in the water for a week while you redo your trailer?

its a 23' offshore V. i dont trust my boat being left anywhere , thats my biggest problem. i though about leaving it in a slip, but only slip close to me is down at the harbor. i guess i could scan craigslist to see if i can rent a trailer from someone for a week or two i guess.

a lot of shops will hoist your boat off of the trailer and onto a stand. This may be the perfect time to call a shop if your doing any work on the boat and have them do it on the stands while your trailer is being worked on. At the very minimum im sure that you could just rent the garage space from the shop however idk how much that would cost. I know that last time i was at lakeland marine they had a 24 hallett on double stands and the newly refurbished trailer had just shown up and they were going to hoist it back on. I do not remember if they were working on the boat itself or not but I assume they were. Any place with a hoist should be able to help you I would imagine. Maybe check out savage marine Ive seen some pretty big boats role through there. Hope the idea helps

When I re-did the trailer on my old 24' Baja, I had MCT trailers in Ventura do it. They put the boat on stands at their yard, stipped the bunks, electical, rims/tires/brakes/barings, etc so the whole thing was down to metal. Then they took it over to a paint and body place in Saticoy that handles heavy machinery paint and has a large booth for sand blasting huge tractors and what-not. They also coated it with the primer they use on offshore oil rigs before painting it. Then I had new barings, brakes, rims/tires, bunks and electrical put back on. Whole thing cost 3k and I had a new trailer.
