Just bought a pro race balancer for BB chevy. Instruction say oven at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes line up key way install with bolt. shrinks to fit.LOL use welding gloves be very careful Also sledge hammer with block of wood alternative.... Depends who you talk too some internet folks (forums) say it wont hurt the motor ???? Should always use new hardened bolt too. Use longer bolt extra washers to start the threads.....

Autozone, free tool rental. ATI's usually require some honing to size. I use a brake cylinder hone and calipers. The oven trick helps also.

You can "cheat" and use some 1/2" threaded rod (fine thread), washers and nut. Make sure to lubricate the threads, nut and washers, assuming the interference fit is not too tight.

Another way may be a bolt with a whole bunch of washers or spacers, but that will take a bunch more time, having to remove the bolt each time you wanted to add more washers.
