    Default winter sleekcraft project

Starting build thread, should be fun winter. Ours is too long up here. Pulled motor last weekend, already disassembled it. Rebuilding motor from stock 320hp to around 450-460hp. Boat went 60 on gps with "A" impeller in stock form. Not bad. After motor the paint and interior are next. Should be busy winter.

Motor apart. Looked really good. Picked up set of D0ve heads. Going to be redoing those too. Mild port work, valves, springs. etc. While parts are on the way, took carb apart and rebuilding it right now. Parts arrive tomorow for it. Thinking powder coating some of the main body or bowls, anyone have any luck with this?

Assembled short block, have to post up some pics. Porting heads next. And a whole lot of polishing and cleaning left.

Another pic of matte black powder coat carb. Worked out well. Cheap way to really put some bling on it. Lol

Yup it does look good the local carb shop up by me Big's performance uses imron paint to coat the carbs and bake it in the oven then call it "Platni-Blast" finish.

Nice build. What pistons are you going with?

Since everything was so unused (low hours) on factory parts I reused factory pistons, rods, and crank. Light hone on block to deglaze. Thinking factory cast piston should be ok with 450 hp. Only 9.5-1 ratio, no boost or blower.
