there is a member on the boards (Bottomfeeder) that has done this. It is crazy stuff. Just the navigation thru the course is insane. He was telling me that you can go it alone and navigate the course yourself, or you can have a navigator that gives you hand signals, BUT NO RADIOS!!!

If they did that around here I would build on tomorrow. Not sure I would stop running the GN, but sure as hell would have one of those. AND, believe it or not, it would have an LS!!!!
The white water stuff is way cool. But the close course sprint stuff is intensely quick!
Its not nascar by any stretch. Its like a high speed maze. Drag racing with insane turn off speeds.

Flat foot all the way around the track. Looks like in the turns unloads the pump that helps slow it down just a tad.

    Default Ditch boats

Have a buddy whos gonna be crewing for us at Parker His names Del Mazy retired cropduster. He drives his Bride navigates lives in Havasau in winter and travels the norhtwest circuit all summer long. I know he'd get a kick if a bunch of you guys came up and ask about his boat. Sport is growing so fast in the northwest that people are actually taking farm land trenching ditches in and they flood the ditch on race day all private water on private ground.

I belive HOOLI the Cantard runs one of the river versions with the 5/8" thick aluminum hulls for bumping over the rocks in the B.C. rivers up north... Someone had posted up pics of his rig in the OW section some time ago...

The track in Marsing was the first in ground track in the USA. It has been closed for some time now. Yes they are a blast. Mine was 13 feet long with a 565 BBC boat wet was 900 ish Lbs, HP was just north of its weight. To catch a race now look to Oregon and Washington.

If the pump unloads you hit the dirt In this vid Tom gets some small gulps of air but never unloads. The bow shear moving water is what slows you down. Vary quick steering ratio (1/4-1/2 turn lock to lock). These run Axil flow pumps the will pump some air without unloading.

On a positve note the White Water World Championship Races are in the USA this year. 10 days 575 miles of water. A must do for any performance boaters bucket list. Have racers from USA,Canada,Mexico,Australia and New Zealand 34 boats pre regestered. With five or six turbines in unlimited with several running over 140 we will see who prevalis Piston or Turbine. Here is a link to the race program. OUTLAW EAGLE MANUFACTURING :: View topic - Race Program

Beside being only slightly demended, you guys are really hard on equipment!
Only 575 miles? Only 60 miles average a day? So what do you do for the rest of the day?
