Instead of headers, performance and tuning issues, your thoughts please? Scott

IMO, it would all depend on the cam profile and how "tuned" the headers are to the over all picture... The zoomies will have little, if any, effect on exhaust scavenging, or utilization of cam overlap to pack the chamber prior to the piston vacuum stroke... Something a blown application doesn't worry about....

The problem with Obama jokes is that his worshippers don't think they are funny, and the rest of us don't think they are jokes
Ray, thought for sure you would be at Parker by now, raining cats and dogs here at LA Harbor and thunder pounding, having trouble with the injection and was wondering if the zoomies could be part of the problem, still can't get it to run right with the new pump. Scott
It isn't the zoomies. I ran them on injected for years. So did many others including record holders in UGF/PGF.
It Looks right!! Isn't that what we are all worried about![]()
Zoomies do affect the running of the engine. Depending on the cam, it can change the charactoristics at idle a fair chunk. Zoomies make less power on the dyno, and I have seen as much as 90 on a stack injected SBC. But when the air flows by the zoomies, they act like a collector, pulling the charge out of the pipe. that is why lots of the N/A dragboats make more MPH with zoomies on. That fresh air and a decent slant back on the pipes makes for a great scavanging.
If you can't get the engine to run, I would guess it is not the changing of the header. But that is just me.
