    Default Happy Birthday Ryan Butler...

Today would have been Ryans 33rd Birthday. Although he is not here to continue being the great person he was, his impact is felt every bit as strong. He was an incredible talent, and an even better friend to anyone and everyone who had the chance to meet him. I'm proud to say that I was lucky enough to be one who did. You will be forever missed by all, Ryan.... R.I.P.

Ryan was a great guy. I enjoyed talking with him in Phoenix when he would make the trek out. Happy birthday Ryan

    Default "A" group

At Parker Saturday I was thinking about the racers we have lost over the years, and Ryan was right up there on my "A" list.... He was in fact a great guy and a friend to all he met. A trip to the Pac Nor West just won't be the same without him....

    Default Sad !

Ryan, a true Gentleman, Glad, I had the chance to pit next to him at Tastin Racin. I must have been the source of his entertainment for at least much of that weekend! I always get nervous and feel so out of place at a region 10 event with the exception of last Sept when I ran Charlie and some of his crew were very close by and once again, I provided their entertainment with my 'rookie' antics. At last Nostalgia is accepted where it belonged in the first place: with other flat racers like Ryan. So sad I never had the chance to 'tailgate race' with him or have a Birthday Beer, but then again, maybe we are!

Then there was the embarassing weekend when the boat below had broken a bow eye coming over the Pass and I could not launch 57 without breaking off the skegs and had to crawl up into the bow while rain water filled the boat up, that had to make him grin, you think? RIP Ryan and most of all, God grant his surviving friends and family with the Peace in knowing he was loved and missed by even a JERK!

Yes, this is what b-boats copied! Harlan Orrin designed and built a 4 straker, rare, RACE boat!
