    Default Hondo Boats history needed....

I am trying to find the proper dash badge for the Panic Mouse.
A question came up in the spam section as to which badge I needed.
I believe Hondo started in North Hollywood and then moved to Sylmar.
Don't know the date of the move.
The hull is a 1969...anybody out there have a '68/69 with an original Badge?
What is the city on it?
Thanks in advance for the info!!

And as long as we're on the subject of badges and dates...
When did Sanger move from Sanger to Fresno.
    I have a Sanger/Sanger badge that came from a '68 woodecker...
figurin that thing is a pretty rare piece these days!!!
Anybody need one?...what are they worth...I do have a GN boat I'd like to get floating this year at some point

I was given a history lesson and I want to say that they moved in 70. That being said, my 71 has the "North Hollywood" badge. And they did start in NoHo then move to Sylmar

    Default Hondo Sanger moves

    Hondo History,
Erv and Ray reworked the bottem of a Sanger and splashed it in Muscarella's bodyshop in Panorama City.
Moved to Valerio St. across from Z's
Moved to Lankershiem in N. Jollywood.
Domestic issues, Erv goes to Three Rivers.
Hondo was his beautiful White Shepard.

Sanger started in a lumber yard, not set up for production.
    He needed to move.

Dave, I have a June 1971 Race Boat and Industry News paper showing what looks like the Panic Mouse you're working on. It's racing at Turlock lake on May 2nd. They run 139 on the first qualifier and lose an engine on their 2nd pass. Hondo has an ad in this paper and still shows N. Hollywood as the contact address.

Jump ahead to May 72 and their ad has the Sylmar address. I think you need the N. Hollywood plaque.

Hondo boats was located on Vineland Blvd. in North Hollywood. I ordered a new boat from Irv in 1971 and they were still at this location.

You've touched on a controversial old subject here.

I enjoy history and wish I knew more "real" facts about significant advances in speed boat development over the years.

Sanger sold the 1st picklefork hydros, but I have a pic from 67 or so of a wood picklefork hydro that Rich Hallet built and ran. I think Rich probably came up with that idea. I've heard Sanger was first in designing the runnerbottom, but the old magazines give credit to Irv.

We need the old timers who were there to post up and clear the air.

Ok, O' Great One!!(come to think of it you do remind me a bit of Jackie Gleason)
Donsflat here on the boards sent me this picture of one he has...
It does not match the one on the P/M...
The one on the boat had the same Hondo logo but looks to have the city name under it and the script it cut out like a Sanger or Biesemeyer badge.
    What year is this one??

    OK...I am officially confused

Guess in 1971 they needed to use up the N/H badges?
But there is a 1970 with a Sylmar badge?
    Did they have 2 locations?
I know it was alotta years ago!
Any chance they could have been in Sylmar in '69? Maybe that's where the glass shop was?

Anyone at least have a picture of the North Hollywood badge?
Pretty sure that is what we need to be "correct".......but who know????

Well it's nice to see my 1/2 hour of research was ignored... I'm having flashbacks to when I wanted my stack tank frame gold.
