    Default Prop Strut Needed...

    I managed to bend my 10* prop strut on my Spectra. I would like to replace it with an identical match to speed up the re-installation time. I searched the Parts Swap and didn't see anything that matched what I have now.

    Existing strut base is 8" long by x 4.50" wide. Barrel is also 8" long. It has a 6 bolt pattern. The spread from center to center of the farthest holes is right at 6.50 inches. Drop is 8.00"

    Thanks!

    I will give them a buzz tomorrow. I thought about trying to straighten this one myself... I would still like to pick up another.

    Thanks!

    Carl... what sort of strut did you have built? A buddy made a nice strut for his Schiada... I might go the custom route but time is ticking away... kinda wanted to be on the lake today but that ain't gonna happen. ;(

    Duplicate of original strut (mine broke into two pieces). Similar to yours, I think both the barrel is longer and the mounting plate as well.

    Mine was made because of this......

    I also build Custom Struts. Mild steel $750, 4130 stress relieved $1500. Turnaround time is less than 2 weeks.

    Can't do steel... the boat sits in the water for days... my almost new steel prop was destroyed in one season. Arrowhead water is very hard on boats. It will either have to be stainless or bronze.

    Still looking for a good used one... with all of the other stuff going on I'd rather not have to spend $750-1000 on a new strut right now. The twist and bend in the current one isn't looking too good. I've also been told I'd be crazy to not change the strut design if I decide to get a new strut built. Right now the kids just want to get back out on the boat.

    Plate Dimensions... 8" x 4.5"
    Drop = 8"
    Barrel = 8"
    Degree = 10*

    Thanks guys!
