    Default Bell Housing

Hi Guys. Is there a Bellhousing that is solid. Meaning no hole in the middle for a drive line? Say you had a snout driven V-Drive. The flywheel is in the back. What do you use to cover the thang? Links or pics would be very nice.

Also. What would you do to run a alternator? The snout is covered with the tube. I was thinking stringer mount the alt and fix a pully on the flywheel. These two things are on the same boat so I am not sure what to do.
    Thanks. EVIL.

2x 0n the power glide adapter. if you know some one with a machine shop, you could have them machine the rear plate of the pg adapter to drive the alternator off the flywheel flange. (some one might post some pics)

The adaptor looks like this, and the motor plate bolt to the adaptor instead of the block, thereby blocking of the back of the adaptor. Not sure machining one of these for an alternator is the best way. I had considered it. But the drive shaft tube doesn't cause a problem with running an alternator. The tube stops short of the damper/PTO anyway. What difference does it make if the whole assembly is 3/4 closer to the v-drive. The PTO is still the forward must part on the snout. Shorten the tube.

Here is one with the aluminum cut open for access and for Alternator drive. I have one that is completely covered, but I do not care for it. Here I can draw timing marks and turn the engine over more easily for valve adjustment etc. And yes ... the flywheel is really close. I might machine it down.

I do have a old adapter somewhere around here. Does anyone make a plate that covers the center or do I need to make it? Thanks guys. I will look into moving the tube up as well. EVIL
