I hope to have the miller home this weekend. It needs an engine (and allot of work) I'm wondering when the time comes should I take the big block out of the stevens and put it in the miller then look for a more period correct engine for the stevens if so what engine should I go with or just leave the stevens alone and just get an engine for the miller any help would be appreciated

A Ford FE would be nice in your Stevens. I have a 1968 boat that if I ever get around to restoring is getting my last 427 FE. If it is not as nice as I am hoping it will get a 428. Old Fords are hard to beat.

    Ford, phiff.
10.00 dollars says that boat was originally build with a 401/425 Buick and 6, 97 Stromberg carbs on log manifold.

The right small block could be way cool, and relatively cheaper to build and last for years.

Definately some nice Small Blocks that could be built to last and would be very period correct. The first small block chevy to win a race was in a boat. The engine was built by Vic and ran in a 266 Hydroplane.

Not to mention it feels like you have twice the room in the boat...I put the 350 HP GM 602 crate motor (built for spec circle track racing) in this boat...and I could not be happier...runs great..performs well and starts when you look at the key...going to do some head work this winter...should give it about 60 more H...

Thrifty on fuel, easy on the wallet, and looks period correct. I must say I never get disappointed with my 327. Dependable, reliable.
