Can a 3 blade prop be as fast as a 2 blade on a v-drive cruiser?
A good 3 blade is good for 80-90 mph, but the top end is usually reserved for 2 blades. That said, I'm not talking about a bronze boat anchor 3 blade, but something crafted for racing. I used a Ron Hill SS 3 blade finely tuned, thin as a potato chip, etc for ski racing and Nostalgia Circle and it performed well and had excellent turning characteristics.
Ok I'm using a 11 3/4 X 16 3 blade Radiece and a 11 3/4 X 16 2 blade Menkens and the 2 blade is 5/6 mph faster. So your opinion is the 3 blade will never match the 2 blade for speed? I'm also talking speeds at or above 100.
I do have a Lifeline high performance jacket, not a racing jacket.![]()
