1958 Flat Bottom Grand National Race Boat - $4500 (Epsom,NH)


This is a rare vintage race boat with a lot of history. It is a 1958 fiberglass marathon ski boat. This boat is a one off hull built by cal marine in California for the president of Chrysler Marine at the time. Originally she raced in California for a good 10+ years, and then she was moved to the east coast of Florida where she raced for a while. Finally she ended up on Lake Winnipesaukee here in NH racing through the late 1960's and 1970's. She was then found in the early 90's by the previous owner who restored her and brought her back to the racing circuit. The boat has been raced the past few years around New England in the vintage race circuit. The boat is powered by a Chrysler 360 and a Casel V-Drive. The boat will do 80+ MPH depending on conditions. I am in no way forced to sell. I would rather see the boat go to someone that is going to appreciate it and race it. I bought a vintage hydroplane and can't race both boats so I want to see this one go to a good home. The history of the boat was told to me by the previous owner. I have well more into this boat than I'm asking for. I have several antique boats and I need the space. Please call for more information. Pics below are of the race last year. Great find mouzer! That is the original Plan B that maximus "cloned".

Cool old boat, but personally I wouldn't have built it with a 360. Gaurantee you that was built originally with a 392 Hemi.
