Default Black Rush'n pics for Jim at High Tech

    Jim,
Hope you don't mind me posting them on the forum instead of PMing you back..Thought some of the fellas would like the pictures...
Great memories of the 006 Hondo pairing off with the Black Rush'n Sanger...the factory war in UGF was at it's peak then!!
I know you want the pictures of the later boat which was the Hondo, since that is the one you are cloning.
Like I said before...I remember the Olympia Beer graphic on the Sanger, but when he switched to the Hondo...if it was on there...it wasn't as prominent.

    The Hondo(sorry I couldn't find more)...
OBTW....the boat in the far lane happens to be my Dad in Lou Simm's Hondo "Magic Dragon" out of San Mateo.
Had a Landy Dodge...but was always a half a tenth off and a couple MPH slower...

The Sanger...Olympia Beer logo in reflective gold lettering on side just ahead of the transom...

Side note, I pride myself in being 86'd from the Olympia brewery in Tumwater WA. (shocking I'm sure)....seems that at the end of the tour, you ended up in the tasting room. I'd leave the tasting room then go back through on the tour. After I'd taken the tour several times (and visits to the tasting room), I started giving the shpeal from the back of the group......"on your left is the 5,000 gallon mixing room.....on your right is the start of the bottleing line....."

The last tour guide showed me the door before I got another taste of Olympia.............

    Default Remember when..

Nice photos Dave.... I was following the races with Irv Brendel at the time and working the pits as a teenager in those days. I also helped Mike Stevens with the Rushin for a period of time. I remember Dick Landy coming to our pits (with the ever present cigar in his mouth) and doing some tuning. I can briefly recall Irv trying one of the new Brendella Flatbottoms with Mike driving, but we couldn't get the combo to work. They ultimately parted ways. I spoke with Mike a year or two ago. I want to say he is in the San Diego area. Those were the golden years.....

Thanks for the pics. If anyone else has pics or info on the Hondo, please share. Jim
