How well will the v-drive hold up? It seems like there would be a lot more strain on the gears moving tires on the street rather than a prop in the water.

Right out of high school I helped a guy stuff a 427 medium riser into the back of an Econoline pickup. What a waste of a prefectly good engine. But they weren't all that rare then, and he had it.
