    Default Tanks in a Schiada...

Got called about three months ago by a customer down so cal way...has a 1973 22' Schiada jet..BBC..GLASS tanks..he keeps the boat in McCall which is Idaho's Lake Tahoe...beautiful place..

asked if we could do a tank conversion in his boat...sure I say..This boat is in stunning condition..the tanks had been leaking for a looong time..saturated the carpets, seat bases and stunk like you can not believe..it was a time crunch to say the least..boat left yesterday back to McCall and customer starts a 10 day vacation..

I already thanked Brian at Tank It in Havasu..and I took a few pics to show how we chose to do it...

Yes...the customer wanted to cut the gallons of the tanks...so we cut to a baffle and had the tanks made..they fit perfect..the glass tanks were 1/4" thick and we set them in on bedded duraglass and then fit all the top components and glassed them in...really slick way to do it...

Dude, 'slick' should NOT be in your vocabulary!

Now, Pat on the other hand, should use it often (go speed racer)!
Yes, this is what b-boats copied! Harlan Orrin designed and built a 4 straker, rare, RACE boat!

...I thought about doing my Spectra that way,...but was not real confident as to the strength of the shell of my glass tanks... ...I instead opted to epoxy in a couple of bulkheads per new tank and throughbolt from tabs top and bottom of each aluminum tank... ...In retrospect it's probably best I did it this way as a screwdriver went through the old tank with ease... ...I would have saved some time and money had my old shells not been so soft... ...Oh well???...
