Default 1969 I think? Magnum flat bottom V-drive need HELP!

Hey all. First time thread poster here looking for information about Magnum flat bottoms. I know its vague but I just want to know everything you guys know. it is a v drive and came with a 427BBC with bassett headers and 13:1 pop up pistons. My dad gave it to me. It's been sitting for approximately 20 years half of it in a garage. I will get the numbers off of it when I go to pick it up but I need your expertise to get some history on this vessel. Thanks in advance.

Great to have ya here! Never heard of Magnum other than that gun and Tom Selleck guy! Hope you can post pictures for all to see!
Yes, this is what b-boats copied! Harlan Orrin designed and built a 4 straker, rare, RACE boat!

I will definitely take some flicks of it as soon as I get it here to my house. I'm Juiced! I'll show you everything I have. Motor and all. I'm really excited that its a BBC 427 as well. Everyone has 454 and bigger but not too many 427's out there.

My Dads good friend had a Magnum with a 427 back in the late 70's/early 80's. He said the boat ran really well. I'll see if I can dig up a picture and find out more info on it.

Cool. Thanks for the response. I'm going to pick it up today. Pictures coming soon. Yea the 427 and 327 are my favorite Chevy motors. My dad said its not 13:1 compression. It's either 13.5:1 or 15:1 pop ups. Steel crank. Huge cam. He said something about it not idling on the street. Must be a huge lift. He said the only thing hokie about the motor is the truck heads. He had someone do a mcgyver port and polish. Hopefully all is well and I can just change every gasket and turnkey that bad boy. Oh and obviously ill have to rebuild the carbs.

My opinion only, way too much compression for what your trying to do! Twenty years has changed our fuel and oil, need to be real careful on what you run with that kind of compression and flat tappet cams with today's oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck, be cautious and not to big of a hurry!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cheers...........

Yes I will try. My dad said its probably going to run av gas. I might put different pistons in it. Who knows. But I am definitely going to spin that motor and see what she can do. What could I do to stop or safe guard myself from running an old motor in these times?

It's 19 ft kind of a pearl white with rust metal flake trim. I don't really know boat terminology or I could give you a wet dream description of it. Lol! I'll get it tomorrow but ill get pictures up after I get home from camp far west. I gotta get some tubing in.
