Default Sanger vs Deaver vs Kurtis

So I'm looking for a new hull, and there are numerous available.

Any input on hulls, is one better than the other. I have (or had) a 78 Sanger 5 rib. All time classic in my mind. But, I'm leaning toward a newer hull, just because of the age/wear factor.

I've always wish there was like a sticky'd thread for hull-types that ranks boats in terms of circle boat / enduro(ski) / drag and assign a rating to them based on how good they are for that type of racing (activity).

The 'Red Baron' is a Bitz-Deaver. Kurtis is great also.

Well we definitely gotta know what you're gonna do with it. Might be time for an all aluminum pontoon boat for some very fast RED CUP racin!!

    Default hull

I have ablown Alcohol motor for it. Was going in my 78 Sanger, but that hull is now trashed. Strictly racing with NJBA, then maybe some Lucas.

    X2 on the Kurtis 501.
Fineline is a great boat, very stable, but very wide, could have issues loading it into an enclosed trailer, and it glides further after shutting it down. They end up on shore from time to time.

All the hulls you have listed can do the 8 second class. Its all about what you can spend and how the boat is set up. Outboard steering, 1 1 1/8 prop shaft and good hardware. I used the 8 second class as a starting point if you want to go right to the 7 second class then get really pickie with the boat get one with a tranny at least its easier on the motor. If you are wanting to start off easy and move up slowly in a hydro at least get one with outboard steering and 1 1/8 prop shaft because you said that your going blown injected . Just my opinion like my butt hole everyone got one

If its strictly race , buy one with a capsule , you can run a 7.0 with a pinch head and a two speed , if you go open boat , within a few years you will want the capsule deal anyways , my .02 , kurtis 501 with a grimes or brendel capsule !

I was warned about him already. That was one of my first calls, but now I'm not sure. Thanks

There is a 81 Deaver in the 408 for sale. He had a blown alcohol motor in it. I spoke with him yesterday. His phone numbers in my ad on boats for sale, WTB a Hydro. Screen name is "Blue Boat" if I didn't just buy a Cole Hydro, I'd be buying it myself.

I've left him a message already.
