Hmmm...When I picked it up it had some glass work that needed to be done in the deck and cap. Rankin handled those duties nicely.
I don't know if Melgosa came up with an entirely new paint scheme or if he just did something to cover the scars that I didn't. Guess pics could answer that some.
There was talk that the V-Drive was mounted a bit farther forward than what would be typical, but I can't remember exactly.
I'll see if anything else comes to mind about the boat.

i know the v-drive is 97'' but engine is a bit further back at 29'' the strut was cut off on the prop end about 1''
when i first drove it, it handled poorly.
bergeron marine blueprinted the bottom (bobby sibert.) and had a new prop made for it after that it drove awesome! and picked up 9 mph!!

I talked to Mr Steele today. I caught him on the way out the door to go trophy truck racing at Glenn Helen this weekend so he didn't have a whole lot of time to chat.
He did tell me that the boat does have a Pro Stock APBA National Champion title. Could'nt remember what year off hand. Kind of gave me the run down of its history. I didn't want to burn up too much of his time, so i gave him my contact info and he said he'd would email me everything he has on the boat. Pictures, owners, history...when he does, I'll share it all here.
And for the record, even though he was pressed for time, he was extremly polite and helpful. Took the time to answere a lot of questions I had.
Seriously, this just gets better and better.

That's how he rolls. He is a real good guy and always willing to help.

The boat did work really well for me while I ran if for the year or so. With my budget I was just always a bit underpowered, but handled nice.

I'm getting ready to start stripping the sides. I'm going to take a razor and cut the paint above the speed coating. Can anyone tell how speed coat reacts to heat? I will try and feather the heat gun away from it, but I'm a little concerned.
You can see how it comes up the side about an inch or two.
