Default V-Drive Degree and Racing Question

I've been told the standard V-drive is generally 10° for racing, is this the case?

Is there huge draw backs to running 12°? Is it against the rules? I scanned them and didn't see anything. Does this drive motor placement? It could be why my fathers motor is set up so far back.

Lots of guys run 12 degree v drives. Most prefer 10 degree though. Your motor will just be a little higher...

Yeah that makes sense, lower CG. Not much room under is current pan. A socket wrench can fit so maybe 1.5'' clearance .

Motor placement should have nothing to do with that angle, don't even know why I entertained the idea.
