Default Steps to be a APBA Driver?

I'm trying to navigate this to be a driver, I'm a bit confused.

Inboard Physical Form | American Power Boat Association

I need this above form filled out by a doctor but if I was racing in Inboard endurance I'd only have to have the following? It seems to me a DOT physical is less stringent than the APBA. Does the DOT physical apply to Inboard?

"Drivers must have an APBA or DOT physical or a current FAA Class 3 or better medical certificate. No other statement of physical condition will be accepted"

After that, I go here: Membership | American Power Boat Association and apply for a "racing membership"?

Is there any steps that I am missing?

I did a few weeks ago, I was told by a current racer that he did not have to do a hearing test and both the D.O.T. and the ABPA form have it so I wasn't sure if I was looking at the right rule or there was something I was missing.

I'm not worried about my hearing but that's why I was confused if there was a lesser physical or something.

Trust me ICY, go to your regular doctor. You could need physiatric help if you get the "van" physical. However, there was a GN owner that got a physical from Lilrick at every race, and he never even drove.

Were these "finger physicals" or simply "cup and cough"?

Use the APBA form and go to your doctor. It's a 10 minute physical. Read the form carefully, there's some items, like nocular pressure test, that are not required. If you're breathing and can see the broad side of a barn you'll pass.
