There is a somewhat local Rayson forsale and I am looking for a v drive still to this day. This one needs a motor and brackets but curious if they are prone to any thing out of the ordinary in old v drives?

I should mention it says circle boat, does that mean it is a different set up than a regular lake boat?

Thoughts and opinions welcome.

Rayson Craft built several models over the years. The only way to tell if it is in fact a Rayson Craft, would be to post a picture. The LP hull was the one used most for circle racing. Most all circle boats ran off the balancer(front of the engine). The first thing to look at is the stringes(make sure they are sound) and the bottom inside for cracks and delamination. If your really looking for a v-drive there are a couple for sale on this coast Tim

Rayson LP

Rayson Craft Lp's to my knowledge were heavy as hell, sadly I cut up mine up as it was to far gone and had been flipped, delamed and was not something worth restoration.. I still would like to have a Rayson GN with the LP deck! IMOP the coolest looking V-drive ever built!

Wow, yes that is the one. Thanks guys.

The price is intriguing, but I don't know enough about these things, and what I do know is that ignorance can lead to paying way more for junk than just buying something good.

No motor brackets, motor was a 390 and in pieces right now and comes with a velvet drive. Said he would throw in the motor too if I don't beat him up too bad on price.

I'll just keep waiting for something better. I already have one toy I am not happy with, so I don't use I don't need another one of those laying around.

I am trying to find high performance boats in WI and they rarely come up local.

:)Unsure I might just get an outboard eventually. :bangmyhead:
