Will A Rayson Craft LP that has had the stringers glassed heavy hold 1200hp? I have a blown 572 that I was building to go into it but thought I may need to start looking for another boat to drop it into and build the Rayson for my girls to drive.

It is an estimate...Here is the breakdown if you doubt the estimate.

Dart Big M 10.2 tall deck block
Scat forged Crank
Billet I-Beam rods
JE 8.5:1 pistons
Brodix Big Brodie Heads Fully ported by Ron Grose Racing that made 1161hp on a 540...these were not cheap
8-71 blower with spacer and intercooler
Carb Shop Dual 950's setup on the motor that pulled 1161hp

I am running all proven components off a slightly smaller bottom end so it should be close.

The LP will take as much HP as you can throw at it. The only problem is that they aren't the fastest hull around by any stretch of the imagination. They are really heavy for one and they are not obviously a runner bottom. Now on the plus side, you will have one of the best looking flat bottom boats ever built. IMHO:yes:

As you can see I am an LP fan but do what you think is best. I would look forward to seeing an LP with a killer installation and a killer motor though, inspite of the naysayers here...:))THumbsUp:))THumbsUp

Back in the late 80's, there was an LP Rayson (red Budwieser boat) that Mike Avila drove in the "hot boat" race during the ski races at Lakeport, CA. It was powered by a 500" (BIG motor back then) tunnel ram motor. He used to go around the point at Will-O-Point resort to warm it up before his race. I went out and f#%ked with him once with my blown Sanger gull wing. My boat ran an honest 110-115 mph and he was right with me. VERY fast, great handling Rayson.
Just sayin'....Jocko

I remember seeing that boat in Lakeport in the 70's during the Ski Races. I had an LP at the time. Good time for sure...

I stumbled across this post this morning and laughed at how this build has changed direction a little but is still on the same track as when I started...I love that I was able to meet Steve and Jerry in Needles and it is great to see that they have been my biggest supporters since day one when I drug this old POS out of a storage locker.

Well it is getting proven power thrown at it by "The King" so hope all the work and research pays off.
