I have a Miller flat bottom V-drive boat. I have had it for quite some time and have kept it pretty much stock. I am in the middle of over hauling the entire boat pretty much: seats, tanks, motor, drive train, ect..... Anyways to my point, I have had a hard time finding good tech help out there so I can it done the right way. I'm pretty much looking for more power and speed, but not sure how to go about the drive train, transmission, prop selection. Any help to get me going in the right direction would be aprieciated greatly.
Thanks,
-Matt
Where are you located? Best to stick with somebody local and knowledgable. Too many opinions won't get you anywhere. Somebody on here can surely meet up with you and get you in the right direction.
Yes, your location is important.
Is the boat broken now??
What components are currently in it? Gears? Prop? V drive type?
Remember, $peed cost$ money, how fa$t do you want to go??
I'm in lake naciamento, california. Not to many flattys around here that I've seen. As for components I am unsure. Boat is running now. Currently building new engine but have a stock 350 in it now. As for cost obviously don't want to spend a fortune if I can help it, easier said than done. Haha. I've just heard a lot of horror stories of damaged engines due to wrong drive train setups. I do understand this up grade will not be cheap, I just don't want to have to do it twice. Thanks for the response guys!
Have you talked to any of the Millers ? There only about an hour from you and with a quick look over could probably give you a good idea of what your boats set up (shaft angle, prop placement, engine placement, etc, etc) is capable of doing, and what changes might be needed to reach your goals.
John is a stand up guy to work with and he will know your boat
