Lookin for some info on this 1979 Riviera Flat I just picked up. most of the boat is primer now, however I started wet sanding it and the original color from the pic I have posted is showing up. What I know is Max Harding drove the boat to win the 1986 APBA SS class as it states in photo. Any information on this boat other then what little I have would be appreciated. I will post pics of the boat as it sits now. Thanks
Joe

Ok I'm done looking. No offense, but I don't even know it the op plans to keep or flip the boat and I don't want to spend a ton of time just to see another boat horse traded. He hasn't even been back on here going on 3 days.
same trailer same seat same colors same trailer..its wourth more if you get that primer off it and back to the original paint...who would primer over that ?
Paul Stratton owned the boat, Johnny McCardle first drove it and he hated it so since Paul still had the SS-5 Biesemeyer that had won all the races and some Championships George Stratton had to drive it at the 1980 or '81 Nationals at Lake Pleasant. The boat would not go around a big turn to save it life ( that why Julian ) didn't make very many of them. All the APBA Championship markings are from the SS-5 Biesemeyer boat not what the Riviera did.
Max built some engines for a guy named Darrell S. for a boat named " Flatbottom Girl " , after Darrell quit racing Max bought the Riviera and started racing the SS class. It worked better on small rough courses like Long Beach but it was never a great handing boat. Max beat to a different drummer in general, he once owed and raced a BFF that was a Lavey. He tipped it over at Ming one year going to the holding rope.
he just texted me........ hopefully i can get this back and get the primer off it and the paint job is not to bad..would like to see it back to its glory days.
