    Default CFW 11th or 12th

    Hi guys,
You guys have all seen my red hydro on here.
    I am a total rookie.
Have a Miller Jet, and had a flat from Rick King that was just a blast. (sold it)

Here it is. I want to bring the Hydro to CFW the 11th or 12th, whichever day is better for a rookie to get some good tips and a little help on how to drive this beast.
I am a little scared after reading all the challenges and smack talking.
Should I even come there? Or should I just stay out of all you racers way?
Thinking of maybe "shaking" it down at Shasta on Saturday to make sure it is running good, then going to CFW on Sunday if all is well.
What is the deal? Can I expect to be shunned and ridiculed? Or will you guys show a little mercy on a rookie??
    Tommy

I wouldnt let no answers stop you from going. Im not sure who will be going next weekend because they are there this weekend. That cove is as much yours as anyone else. Go up there and have fun. If they dont like it oh well. Pretty much the first Saturday of the month is the big weekends at CFW.
Can't wait for you to meet Herb..he might quietly call you "the dumbest sonofabitch he's ever met".... RCL

Have you thought about doing your shake down run at Keswick? It stays smooth and is usually empty. The 12th is Easter so you may have better luck on the 11th...

    Forgot about Easter.
Think I will go to Jones Valley on Saturday, 11th.
I believe the water is up to the ramp.

    Default Go to CFW!

    Tommy,
If you are a rookie, DO NOT attempt your first hard passes anywhere except CFW. God forbid, if anything went wrong at least you have people observing and ready to take action safety-wise.
My son crashed his boat today and he was plucked out of the water immediately! I'm certainly not trying to scare you, but you will leave CFW a different person after you experience the comraderie of the regulars at that lake. Vest up (Lifeline) and take your speed up incrementally. Jocko

Never go out without a chase boat. I know from experience that you want a boat ready!!!! Anything can happen. I sunk my boat when it was idling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think I'll shoot for the following weekend.
I'll check in here when I get everything ready.
    Thanks again!

The Bandit beat me to it. I was going to tell you to call him. He's inches from the cove. He'll treat you right , as will all of us. Just make sure you do things safe (no drinking while fast boating and ALWAYS wear your life jacket) and you'll be amazed at how awesome this place & it's people are.
    Smash

RIP Jeffrey Lee Aschwanden. Godspeed bro.

Thank You for all the help Mr. Bandit !!!

i have met alot of the greatest people in the world at CFW. that would be the first place id go for a rookie like myself. there is a alot of experience there and advise. once you go your hooked. unfortunatley a family health slowed my hydro project but ill be fired up soon again. Bandit , Landspeed and all the others i know are the greatest support .

So your afraid to come to CFW because of all these "smack talking racers"??? Well you now have a invite to CFW. If you have any problems just tell them Michelle (aka Summergirl) sent you. Trust me they won't give you any CRAP!!! WILL YOU GUYS??? LMAO (I love my job)

I also know there will be Hot boaters over the Easter Weekend. I have had many phone calls regarding our Easter Egg Hunt being held on Saturday morning. I know of a V-drive guy coming but won't mention any names in fear of not getting any of his FAMOUS BBQ MUSHROOMS!!! I know of another Hydro boat coming too so you won't feel out of place. As Hud would say "C'mon!

There is a big difference between the boards and face to face, most of the stuff on here is pure fun, sometimes venting and sometimes ranting. Most guys on here are good friends at the lake and would do whatever to help you out. Unless you are a total a-hole at CFW (NOT saying you would be), you will be welcomed, helped with your boat operation and launching if needed, and even fed . . . . . I would not worry about it, just show up and have a great time. Every one on here is absolutely correct, a chase boat in the water is a must, especailly when you are learning
